SEI at General Synod 2026

Anna-Claar and Victoria at General Synod

The General Synod of the Scottish Episcopal Church was held in Stirling between the 11th and 13th of June. Thank you to the General Synod staff of all their hard work!

Rev Dr Anna-Claar Thomasson-Rossingh and Dr Victoria Turner presented the work of SEI for 45 minutes on the Friday morning. Anna-Claar began by thanking Rev Dr Mike Hull for his leadership of SEI.

Along with explaining how IME1, IME2 and CMD training currently operates at SEI, they explained SEI’s plan for increasing provision for lay training, and further integrating IME1 training with home charges. They also pointed to the opportunities for expanding research at higher levels for SEC members. The talk ended with a reflection on the book of Ruth, reflecting on how the two women taking centre-stage are in a period of transition and change.

A lively discussion followed. SEI staff would like to thank the General Synod for their support and encouragement.
