The SEI offers an annual lecture at one of the ancient Scottish universities. Last year’s Lecture was given by the Revd Professor Sarah Coakley. This year’s will be given by Professor Grant Macaskill who was appointed to the Kirby Laing Chair of New Testament Exegesis at Aberdeen University in 2015. It will be held on Thursday 26 October 2023 at 5pm in Aberdeen University, and as ever will be livestreamed.

The card lists the names of those students who have just completed their first three years of ministerial formation (IME1) and will be ordained Deacon at Michaelmas. It is circulated to encourage the Church to pray for those candidates. The card (2023) can be downloaded here.

The SEI Prayer Diary provides the Church with a way of praying daily for all involved in the SEI Community. The Prayer Diary 2023/24 can be downloaded here.

The Alastair Haggart Bursary Fund

The Bursary is awarded annually in memory of Bishop Haggart, Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church (1977-85). It aims to help finance sabbaticals or other similar leave of absence on the part of full-time ministers at a stage in the person’s life when such an experience will significantly enhance his or her development. The outcomes of the project should also be of benefit to the wider Church. To apply to the fund, please access the form here. Applications for the 2024 award are invited, the closing date is 22 January 2024.
