September 2024 has seen thus far three deaconings and one licensing of the Scottish Episcopal Institute’s 2024 graduates.
The Rev Maureen Farquhar and the Rev Laura Symon were ordained to the diaconate by the Rt Rev Mark Strange, Bishop of Moray, Ross & Caithness and Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church, on Saturday 14 September 2024, at Inverness Cathedral. Maureen will serve her Title as Assistant Curate at St John’s Church, Forres; Laura as Assistant Curate at Inverness Cathedral.
Ms Camayo Hyde was licensed as Lay Reader at Christ Church, Falkirk, on Wednesday 18 September 2024, by the Rt Rev Dr John Armes, Bishop of Edinburgh. The photo (above) shows Camayo with her Rector, the Rev Canon Sarah Shaw. Cam will serve at Christ Church, her home charge.
The Rev Helen Randall was ordained to the diaconate on Saturday 21 September at St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, Aberdeen, by the Rt Rev Ian Paton, Bishop of St Andrews, Dunkeld & Dunblane. Helen will serve her Title as Assistant Curate at St Magnus’ Church, Lerwick, and St Colman’s Church, Burravoe.
