Rev Canon Dr Phillip Tovey

The Rev Canon Dr Phillip Tovey is a retired priest of the Church of England. After teaching theology in Uganda 40 years ago, he came back to England for ordination. Then, after working in parish ministry, he trained candidates for lay and ordained ministers in the Diocese of Oxford. He was seconded parttime to Ripon College Cuddesdon for 11 years to teach liturgy. He has also lectured in Hong Kong, New Zealand and Scotland. Phillip has been a member of the Inter-Anglican liturgical Consultation for 30 years. He has published numerous books on liturgy and is a member of Societas Liturgica and the Society for Liturgical Study.
