The Very Rev'd Canon Margaret (Margi) Campbell

The Very Revd Margi Campbell was appointed to the position of Provost of St John’s Cathedral in the Diocese of Argyll and The Isles in May 2018, then appointed Dean from 2020. Margi was ordained in the Church of England (CofE) in 2002 and worked within the Diocese of Bath and Wells (Somerset) as a Parish Priest, Rural Dean and Vice Chair, then Chair of the Diocesan Liturgy Committee. As part of the DLC, she led training days for Clergy and Readers in Liturgical Formation. Margi was also a Governor of various schools in her parishes, gaining much experience in the role of ‘critical friend’ and the strategic requirements of governance. Margi is privileged to be connected throughout her ministry with students training for ordination and lay readership: as Placement Supervisor for ordinands in training and discernment, and as Training Rector to 2 Curates in the CofE and 2 in the SEC. She has been involved in the Vocation and Discernment process, stopping when the Diocese was in Episcopal vacancy. She is honoured to serve as a member of the Institute Council as it seeks to nurture students in all aspects of their formation for ministry in the Church.
