Bishop Nicholas visits Ayrshire clergy

On Tuesday 20th of May the Ayrshire clergy met with Bishop Nicholas of the Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway at St Ninian’s Episcopal Church, Troon. Among them were two SEI students, the Rev Harriet Johnston and the Rev Margaret Williams; and one SEI staff-team member, the Rev Dr Anna-Claar Thomasson-Rosingh, who presently serves as Director of Studies and will transition into the new role of Director of Contextual Formation on Friday 1 August when Dr Victoria Turner comes on post as Director of Studies.

The conversation was lively with the clergy and their bishop getting to know each other and sharing delight and challenge in their respective contexts. The bishop spoke of his prayer to be able to notice what God is doing in the diocese and to join in it as well as of a values-based ministry rather than a strategy-driven ministry. The meeting finished with prayers in church where the bishop anointed each of the clergypersons.
