The Initial Ministerial Education Phase 2 cohort held their annual residential at St Mary’s Monastery, Kinnoull, Perth, from Friday 3 through Sunday 5 May. The IME2 cohort are those in their first three years of authorised ministry, that is, curates serving their titles, and vocational deacons and lay readers in their first three years of service.
The residential was organised by the Rev Liz Crumlish, SEI’s IME2 Officer, and led by the Rev Diana Hall, Rector of St Anne’s, Dunbar, and Associate Tutor at SEI, along the lines of mission in contemporary Scotland. It included input from the Rev Dr Anna-Claar Thomasson-Rosingh, SEI’s Director of Studies, who was in attendance on Saturday, and the Rev Canon Prof Michael, SEI’s Principal, who presided and preached at the Holy Eucharist on Sunday. Sixteen lay readers, deacons and priests participated, making this the most widely attended IME2 residential in SEI’s history. Their joy in their service to God and His people was evident throughout the weekend. So too was their commitment to proclaim the Gospel and serve their local communities.
