Prof Hull elected Chair of the TEI Forum

The Scottish Episcopal Institute participates in the Common Awards scheme (CA). CA brings together 18 theological education institutions (TEI). The TEI Forum provides an opportunity for all TEIs in CA to discuss common issues and share good practice relating to theological education.

The Forum meets twice each year, usually in April and October. The focus and format of the meetings are not prescribed to enable members to determine how they would like the Forum to operate. The Chairperson works with the members of the TEI Forum to determine the nature, structure and content of their meetings. The Chair consults with Forum members to shape and direct the meetings of the Forum in order to realise a shared vision for the Forum and to ensure that it identifies and addresses issues of interest to TEIs.

Each TEI Principal (or equivalent) is permitted to nominate up to four members of core staff to serve on the Forum. Principals are strongly encouraged to nominate individuals who represent the diversity of the CA programmes, i.e. full- and part-time provisions. A Chairperson is elected by the Forum’s members for a three-year term and a Secretary is nominated for each meeting. Prof Hull was elected in April 2025 to serve in the following three academic years. The Common Awards Management Board includes two representatives appointed by the Forum who normally serve for three years.

Prof Hull hopes the Forum will advance theological education in the CA with input of its front-line theological educators.
