The Scottish Episcopal Institute is pleased to present the Spring Journal 2026, ‘Pastoral Supervision’, guest edited by Rev Liz Crumlish, Pastoral Supervisor and Educator, IME2 Officer in the SEI and Priest in Charge, St Oswald’s, Maybole in the Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway. The Journal’s new editor, Dr Victoria Turner, presents this issue below:
We have a brilliantly creative collection of articles that think about pastoral supervision in a range of contexts and how this practice assists those with high pressured/emotionally strained vocations. The articles cover both the practical elements of pastoral supervision along with the theory and theology behind adopting it in church contexts. Articles published are written by Heather Forrest, Anna-Claar Thomasson-Rosingh, Jane Bingham, Sarah Brown, Keith Thomasson and Liz Crumlish. Two book reviews by Liz Crumlish and Alison Jasper consider a new collection of prayers written by Ross Stirling-Young and a co-edited book revisiting Faith in the City 40 years on by Victoria Turner and Chris Baker.
